A new consortium meeting of the i-VITAL project was held on the 12th of Februrary 2014 in the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) in Erlangen, Germany. Founded in 1985, IIS ranks first among the Fraunhofer Institutes concerning headcount and revenues. With the creation of mp3 and the co-development of AAC, Fraunhofer IIS has reached worldwide recognition.
The second meeting of the i-VITAL project consortium, sponsored by the European Commission, took place on the 12th of November 2013 in Spain and was hosted by CETEM, which is a research and development research centre with expertise on the field of electronic sensors and embedded system design, at their research facilities in Yecla.
This meeting was for the project partners to report on their progress from the initial technical teleconference in September and to discuss and plan the next phase of activities for the next 5 months.
CETEM, the science and technology research organisation for wood and furniture based in Yecla, Murcia, Spain has been appointed as the coordinating body for the European Commission project named ‘i-VITAL’. The project goal is to enhance eCall with vital signs data of the riders and overcoming the limitations of existing motorcycle eCall systems.
